Diversity in the STEM Workforce Varies Widely Across Jobs

Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, and American Indian or Alaska Native are underrepresented minority groups in STEM as depicted below.  SMART Academy recognizes this disparity that has limited these minority groups from future career opportunities in science-based fields and have implemented programs to close the gap.  By working with our community engineers, developers, professionals, businesses, and institutions, we have identified the problem areas and are applying what works to fill the gaps in education, learning, shared experiences and efforts to increase STEM knowledge.
